Dominick Christian Thayer

Dominick Christian Thayer, 39, a registered sex offender, is accused of among other things hanging it out out at the Chili’s on North Classen Blvd. in Oklahoma City on Saturday.

He’s also accused of assault with a deadly weapon, attempted larceny of a motor vehicle, public indecency and inhaling a harmful substance. The latter charge is easy to grasp once one realizes that the glistening substance on Thayer’s face in his mugshot is gold paint.

As fate would have it, an Oklahoma City police officer had just finished lunch at the restaurant and was still on the restaurant’s parking lot when Thayer reportedly shirtless and barefoot walked into the restaurant, allegedly with a portion of his buttocks exposed.

The cops say that shortly thereafter, Thayer exited the restaurant, approached a soft drink delivery truck, jumped into the truck, tried to start the vehicle, jumped back out and was pounced on by the OKC cop who with gun drawn forced Thayer to the ground. At that point it is alleged that Thayer’s genitals were exposed through the open zipper of his shorts.

The assault with a deadly weapon charge is the result of an allegation from a restaurant patron that Thayer threatened him, his wife and child with a knife while Thayer was inside the restaurant.

Thayer who has previously been imprisoned four times for a total of eleven years is probably looking a several more years as a guest of the state and the folks at Chili’s are probably breathing a little easier, thanks to a cop that was there when they needed them.
