Travis Ludwig – Cop To Con
Former Tulsa Police Officer Travis Ludwig, 38, has made it semi-official transforming himself from cop to con with his guilty plea on Friday to drug charges.
Ludwig pleaded guilty to two counts, a felony count of possession of a controlled drug and a misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia.
In what may turn out to be preparations of an “easy slide” for a disgraced cop, Tulsa County District Judge Kurt Glassco withheld a finding of guilt and set sentencing for November. Ludwig remains free on bond.
Ludwig’s attorney Paul Brunton indicated that he will request a deferred sentence giving Ludwig the chance to have the case dismissed without any felony conviction on his record if he successfully completes the probationary period.
The prosecution indicated the state will ask that Ludwig will be sentenced to prison time.
However this is the same prosecutor that agreed to amend the felony count to remove the allegation that Ludwig possessed cocaine with the intent to distribute. Had that allegation remained odds are no one would be discussing a deferred sentence.
After all, it was originally alleged that cocaine, scales used by drug abusers and about $4,000 in cash were seized during searches of Ludwig’s patrol car, personal duffel bag and home last September.
Don’t know about you, but to this old country boy that sounds more like a dope dealer than a user… But who knows, maybe one of these days we will hear of Ludwig becoming the police chief of some small town in Oklahoma, like this guy.

Hate to say it, but bad cops are starting to become the norm rather then the exception.
